The MEPI Tomorrows Leaders Program 2026, funded by the Department of State’s U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), offers fully funded scholarships to students from economically disadvantaged communities in Egypt and Lebanon who represent the cultural and regional diversity of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program has partnered with premier American-style colleges in Cairo and Beirut to give participants with excellent information and practical skills for effective leadership. Participants in the MEPI Tomorrows Leaders Program will have access to a vibrant community that offers a variety of support systems, including mentoring and personal development initiatives.
Students who enrol in prestigious liberal arts universities such as the American University of Beirut, the American University in Cairo, and the Lebanese American University through this fully funded scholarship for international students will have the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and improve their capacity to come up with creative solutions to problems in their communities, the MENA region, and the global community. Tomorrow’s Leaders will apply their academic knowledge to real-world circumstances through interesting internships, civic engagement projects, and enrichment courses, in addition to their great academic performance. Before the launch of this worldwide fellowship for undergraduate and graduate students, Tomorrow’s Leaders’ three university partners will hold information sessions. These events will offer candidates with all of the information they need to choose the right school for them and write an effective application for the MEPI Tomorrows Leaders Program. You will get the opportunity to interact with professionals from the Tomorrow’s Leaders Program team during these sessions. They will discuss a wide range of issues, including eligibility requirements, application materials, various elements of university life, and much more. Applicants will learn about the various academic fields available through this international scholarship program, campus safety, student groups and athletics, and campus facilities.
Additionally, undergraduate students will have the option to spend a semester studying abroad in the United States, where they will be able to connect with locals, immerse themselves in American culture, and broaden their global perspective. After finishing the Fully Funded MEPI Tomorrows Leaders Program, participants will join a network of over 1,000 program alumni who are Middle Eastern and North African leaders. Tuition for both undergraduate and graduate scholarships is waived in full, as is free housing, health insurance, an entry visa, a monthly stipend for participating in Tomorrow’s Leaders activities, a textbook allowance, a laptop, two round-trip air tickets to the home country per year, access to career-oriented workshops, internship opportunities, and mentorship from university faculty. Who Can Apply?
- Medical students are not eligible to apply.
- IELTS and TOEFL exam results are not required throughout the admission process. If you are picked following the interview, you will require it later.
- US citizens and permanent residents are ineligible to apply.
- Candidates should have at least 80% in their prior academic records.
- Applicants must be from one of the following countries.
- Graduate applicants must submit two separate applications to the American University of Beirut and the American University of Cairo.
- One as a candidate for the Leaders of Tomorrow program, and the other as a unique application to a partner agency.
- Students can study at a university in the United States for one semester.
- Graduate students can take advantage of graduate or research assistantship opportunities.
Documents Required to Apply
- A national identification card.
- Requirements: Valid passport, 500-word essay, or 5- to 6-minute film.
- An essay about social responsibility should not exceed 500 words.
- Graduate students must provide authentic transcripts of grades 10, 11, and 12 from upper secondary school, as well as a diploma/degree certificate.
- Graduate students must provide a verified transcript of their bachelor’s degree as well as a diploma or degree.
- A certificate for leisure or informal activities.
